Sick Ian

Ian has been sick - sore throat, coughing, headaches, that sort of stuff. He is a great sick kid because he doesn't do a lot of complaining. But he is very clingy. I went to drink coffee at the church with my mom one morning while he and daddy were still asleep. I was only gone for 30-45 minutes. When I got back home he had moved a chair in front of the door, brought his pillow and blanket, and was watching and waiting for me to get home. When I walked in the door he told me that he missed me. It made my heart melt. I love being a mom.

Silly Boys

Not a whole lot to say about these pictures - just boys being silly. I will say this though, Ian is a hoot, he wanted me to take lots of pictures of his different poses. I am reminded of the previous post where I said that Ian was ALL boy!! .........

Sweet Nia

Nia & Romeo had a father/daughter day in Lubbock a few weeks ago. They went to a eye appointment for Nia, went to a movie, went to the mall, went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse and then came home. I was a little worried about the eye appointment because Nia was picking out a new pair of frames. She did a great job. A little goofy in the picture but these are her new glasses.

Nia is a wonderful helper to me and an excellent big sister. She does kind things all the time without being asked. Over the Christmas break she would get up in the mornings, come get Kodah and entertain him/read him a book/play with him while I slept a little longer. For my birthday, she brought me breakfast in bed. She and Ian fit so well together because she is always willing to play a "boy" game such as wrestling, cops, building blocks, you know - boy stuff. Ian is ALL boy and doesn't enjoy playing house or babies so Nia just plays what he wants to play. She is a sweetheart.

Kodah is 6 Months Old

Here are a few things he IS doing:
rolling over - laughing - using his hands to grab things - he likes to chew or suck on his toes - recognizes his name - recognizes other peoples voices such as Mommy, Daddy, Nia, Ian, & Mema - smiles and laughs at himself in the mirror - he has learned that he has a tongue and he sticks it out all the time

Here are a few things he is NOT doing:
sleeping through the night - still won't eat cereal - sitting up by himself - no teeth yet - won't suck out of a bottle (he is loyal to his momma) - not sleeping in his own bed (he sleeps either with me or in his swing) I realize this is a bad thing so no comments please! : )

Bible Time with Kodah

My heart broke with overflowing joy this evening when I walked in the living room to find Ian "reading" his Bible to Kodah. I just can't explain what that does to a mother!!!

Cute Pictures and Ian's "Tie"

We have lots of fun with Kodah. Here are some cute pictures.

We had church directory pictures last week and Ian insisted on wearing his "tie". He made the tie at school. Unfortunately this mom wouldn't let him keep it on for pictures. He agreed to let me take a picture of him with my camera.

Kodah's First Haircut

Kodah's hair was so long!!!!!!!! It's was about 4 inches on top and on the sides, it covered his ears. I didn't want to cut it, it is part of that baby stage that is just so sentimental to me - the OH SO SOFT & SILKY BABY HAIR! But.. we did it! It was a family affair. Kodah screamed in protest most of the time, I held him, Romeo cut it with the clippers, and Nia and Ian put some of the hair in a ziploc bag for safe keeping. Now he has a big boy fade! He is OH SO HANDSOME!!!

The before

The After

Halloween

I admit it - I'm a bad mom! It took me a while to decide whether or not I wanted to post pictures of Halloween because I knew it would scream "bad mom" at me. I took pictures of Nia & Kodah..... but not Ian. Awful-I know!!!!!!!

GAG!!!

Kodah is 4 months old. Can you believe it? I can't. He has been eating less but getting bigger. He has laughed out loud a few times but is still learning. He loves talking to anyone who will talk back. He has not yet rolled over and he is not sleeping through the night. He is a happy happy boy! Hardly ever cries except when I mess up and have caffeine or anything spicy. Four months comes with real food (well, not in my opinion). He hated it and gagged on it several times. What to do?

Personality

Ian is developing such a clever & witty personality.

Our preacher, who has a come back for everything - very witty, had a conversation with Ian the other day about a drawing that Ian had given to him. Rory laid it down on my mom's desk (as if he was leaving it there) and Ian picked it up and gave it to him a second time. I told Rory that he would be checking on it so don't go put that in the trash. So Rory told Ian that he was going to go put it in a super secret place where only he knew where it was. He went on and on about this secret place. And then Ian said, "I know, I know, the trash".

Rory was talking to mom and me and used the word shut-up. Ian told him that was a bad word and that he needed to ask God to forgive him.

At school, lunch time, Ian bent a fork in half! He was trying to show-off. He was waving it around, showing all his friends, he was so proud of himself. His teacher told him to go show the lunch room leader and he said okay like he had done something wonderful. Then the lunch room leader told him to go show Mr. B (the principal) what he had done. He was super excited about showing the principal how strong he was not even realizing that he was in trouble for destroying the fork. He soon realized, after talking to the principal, that he had done something wrong. Dad was called into the office. This story was told to me by a friend of mine that works in the cafeteria. She thought it was hilarious! She thinks Ian is so funny and can't wait to hear what he has to say each morning.

Nerd Day

It's Red Ribbon week and each day of the week is a fun dress up day at school. Today is nerd day.

Nia was a little worried about dressing like a nerd. When she saw the clothes I picked out for her she was not about to go to school looking like that. I explained that everyone would look nerdy so it was no big deal. She agreed to my suggestions.

Ian was cute too until I realized he was too sick to go to school. He had his pant legs rolled up, one part of his shirt tucked in and the other out, socks with sunday shoes on and our plan was to part his hair down the center with a spike at the top.

Fall Fest

Nia was selected by her classmates to be the second grade Fall Fest candidate. She was so excited! When she told daddy her news, she said, "Daddy, I'm the Homecoming Queen". Well, not really. A picture was taken of her and her partner, Ethan Parsons, and put on a can. The cans were put in businesses around town for supporters to put money in. The can with the most money, Wins! So.... they didn't win. She looked so beautifully gorgeous!

Happy Birthday Ian

On October 5th, Ian had a birthday!! He made it 5 Years and we are praying for many more! He is a Great Kid! Happy Birthday Ian!
