1st Tooth

Kodah's first tooth broke through yesterday - 1/13/10 (6 months old)

Kodah is 6 Months Old

Here are a few things he IS doing:
rolling over - laughing - using his hands to grab things - he likes to chew or suck on his toes - recognizes his name - recognizes other peoples voices such as Mommy, Daddy, Nia, Ian, & Mema - smiles and laughs at himself in the mirror - he has learned that he has a tongue and he sticks it out all the time

Here are a few things he is NOT doing:
sleeping through the night - still won't eat cereal - sitting up by himself - no teeth yet - won't suck out of a bottle (he is loyal to his momma) - not sleeping in his own bed (he sleeps either with me or in his swing) I realize this is a bad thing so no comments please! : )

Kodah's First Haircut

Kodah's hair was so long!!!!!!!! It's was about 4 inches on top and on the sides, it covered his ears. I didn't want to cut it, it is part of that baby stage that is just so sentimental to me - the OH SO SOFT & SILKY BABY HAIR! But.. we did it! It was a family affair. Kodah screamed in protest most of the time, I held him, Romeo cut it with the clippers, and Nia and Ian put some of the hair in a ziploc bag for safe keeping. Now he has a big boy fade! He is OH SO HANDSOME!!!

Kodah is 4 months old. Can you believe it? I can't. He has been eating less but getting bigger. He has laughed out loud a few times but is still learning. He loves talking to anyone who will talk back. He has not yet rolled over and he is not sleeping through the night. He is a happy happy boy! Hardly ever cries except when I mess up and have caffeine or anything spicy. Four months comes with real food (well, not in my opinion). He hated it and gagged on it several times. What to do?

Ian Rides A Bike

My dad likes to take the kids on bike rides. They have plenty bikes for all the kids and they rode 4 miles the other day. Ian however didn't know how to ride a bike and was very upset because he couldn't go with papa to ride. So, I told him that he had to learn how to ride a big boy bike! And that was all it took. Madisyn got him on a big boy bike and he took off. The last time we practiced with him was a year ago at age 3 and decided he wasn't ready. Yes, he had lots of wreck but jumped right back up ready to try again. He loved it! Now, maybe in a few weeks, he can go with papa on a bike ride!!! Good Job Ian!

One Month Old

It is so hard to believe that Kodah is already a month old - actually 5 weeks and 3 days. He had gained 3 pounds in the first 4 weeks which the pediatrician thought was a lot. She said that most babies just gain around 1 pound. He is getting better about sleeping at night but it is still very hard for me. He loves sleeping right next to me but then I don't sleep well so I am working hard at getting him in his own bed. We have yet to give him a hair cut and we probably won't for a long time although he needs it. I am so excited to get to see everyone in Oklahoma this weekend and show off my baby boy. He is one handsome little man.

Pulling Tooth #2

After lots of tugging and pulling, it finally came out.

Nia lost her first tooth today! 2 days after her 7th birthday! We are hoping that the feeling of not having a tooth there will help her stop sucking her thumb.
