Spending Time with Family

We decided on Friday morning that we wanted to go to Mema's house, so we were out of the house in 2 hours, just me and the kids. That day was Becky's 34th Birthday so we headed to Lubbock as soon as we got to Dickens and then went out to eat at a Japanese restaurant. Saturday morning we got up again to head back to Lubbock to spend the day with my sister and kids. We had a great time.

They had already planned to spend a couple days at Mema's so they just rode home with me. We had a great time on the way home. Lots of laughter, noise, and music!

T-Ball Pictures

The 2009 T-Ball season is over and we are having mixed emotions. We LOVED it this year. I looked forward to it every week. We sure are hoping there is t-ball/softball available in Spur for Nia & Ian to be a part off. We can't wait.

A HUGE THANKS TO OUR COACHES FOR MAKING
IT SUCH AN ENJOYABLE SEASON!

Summer Time Fun

My kids love playing outside and finding worms, caterpillars, june bugs, butterflies, moths, and many more yucky creatures. But one of their favorites is the frog. It is such a great and exciting day when they catch one. Ian even "bought" a frog cage with his Awana points at church.

Darlington 1st grade

Wow, what a year! Nia is very sad to leave her teachers and friends. She doesn't understand why we have to move and she is not at all thrilled with having to make new friends in Spur. She will surely miss everyone there.

the girl on Nia's left is Jean, one of Nia's best friends

Nia & Cheyenne, another one of her best friends

and this is Masiya, a very sweet girl, and a friend to Nia

Diamond, Nia & Cheyenne

Rylyn has been her friend since Pre-K.

Ian is very popular with the 1st graders. During this particular field trip, Ian grew fond of a boy named Chris and he had to be by his side everywhere he went.

Fun With Daddy

Romeo does lots of experiments/projects with the kids. He made night lights out of old nestle chocolate milk containers, helped sand & paint their cars for Awanas, and in these few pictures, they are planting carrots in an old milk jug.

This picture is not an experiment!!
Just lots of fun playing with daddy while he was trying to sleep.

Good News on Our House

We got a great offer yesterday on our house and we accepted. Only bad thing is that the buyer's have to sell their house first and they haven't even put it on the market. Which could be really good for us because I don't really want to change doctors a week or so before I deliver the baby. So I am hoping it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to sell their house. But, if they sell their house soon, we will try to rent somewhere here (with very minimal furniture & such) until the baby comes. So we will be keeping our eyes and ears open to some sort of rent property just in case we need it.

Why I LOVE My Mom

In no particular order:

1. She is always up to spending time with me! Whether it be playing cards, going garage saleing, shopping, talking on the phone.... She just isn't ever TOO busy for me!

2. She's REAL! She locks keys in the car, can't remember what she's already told me, forgets what she called to tell me, always has to go to the bathroom while we're on the phone .... (is that too much info?) Oh, and she burns things - like the potatoes in this picture.

3. She is VERY loving, compassionate, caring, giving, understanding, forgiving, tender-hearted and on and on and on!

4. She is Super Funny! I can remember so many times laughing so hard with my mom. On the way home from Lubbock, dancing with her, waving at people we didn't know, just weird stuff that you don't normally think moms do. MINE DID and I thought it was so cool. I remember a few girls in my class told me that it would be cool to have my mom as their mom. Even still, we laugh and cry together lots.

5. And Finally....

The best of all.. She loves Jesus Christ and is dedicated, committed, and passionate about living her life the way that He wants her too. This was very evident while growing up and I can't thank her enough for the devotion she showed me to her Savior. Not only is she my mom but she is my sister in Christ!

I LOVE YOU MOM

Rain, Mud & Stains

With all this rain, we have had 3 t-ball games canceled and lots of mud! And while I love that my kids like to play in the mud and get all dirty, we are trying to sell our house and it is impossible to keep the house clean. We do have hardwood floors, thankfully, which makes it easier

My next issue - stains. Not only mud caked into jeans and shirts but markers and blueberries as well. I can't seem to get stains out of any of Nia's shirts. We do have stained play clothes but sometimes they don't get on the body before they get stained. There are some clothes that Nia INSISTED she wear to school but she comes home, 9 out of 10 times, with stains on them that I can't seem to get out. I use the spray Shout but it doesn't seem to work.

PLEASE HELP! Everything she has stained was either bought at Goodwill or a garage sale so it is really not that big of a deal but I still don't want them to go to waste if there is anything I can do to get rid of the stains.
