I AM SO PROUD!

I have not felt good all day yesterday and today. I slept with my contacts in (I know, dumb idea) Wednesday night. I woke up Thursday with sever pain in my left eye. I thought it would get better throughout the day but it didn't. Thursday night was miserable - no sleep. I knew I had to see the doctor. The doctor gave me some antibiotic eye drops. I have been feeling a little better but still real drowsy - due to me rubbing, all the watery eyes, swelling behind my eye causing headaches, and of course the no sleep for 2 nights doesn't help.

But, life goes on right? My Realtor called today to tell me someone needs to show my house tomorrow morning. Well, you know how it goes, when moms sick, not much cleaning gets done. So, my house is in need of a good clean before tomorrow.

My kids are used to helping in that area so I just told them today we were going to focus on cleaning and tomorrow they could be kids and play outside! But to be honest I was not enthused about this because I just want to rest. I told the kids that and here's their response.

Nia: you can go sleep and me and Ian will watch TV. (WHAT?)
Ian: I have an idea!
Amy: let's hear it
Ian: you go take a nap and we will clean!
Nia: we will just do the small things.
Ian: no, I want to do everything!
Amy: I think you are on to something Ian!
Amy: I can't let you do all the work!
Nia: We want to do it all by ourselves!
Ian: Please!
Amy: Okay, 30 minutes and then we can all do what doesn't get done!

So guess what I am doing? Blogging while my kids clean my house! REALLY?

I am SO Proud!

T-Ball & Friends

Another T-ball game last night! I have learned from experience that what makes t-ball so fun is the attitude of the coaches and parents. We have been through some really SERIOUS coaches and parents and it was miserable. That's why Nia didn't play after her pre-k year was because it was not fun! This year, however, is a whole different ball game! The coaches & parents are relaxed & easy going. KIDS WILL BE KIDS! SO MUCH FUN!

They WON this game! Nia got to play 1st base and she loved it.
Here are some pictures.

And once again, Ian is playing in the dirt & rocks.
This time he found a friend to join him!!!!

"Noddy Cain"

Last night during Bible story time with the kids, we read the story of Cain & Abel. At the end of the story it says that Cain was sent away to the land of Nod. And Nia replies, "because he was Noddy (naughty)". So clever!

Busy Baby

The baby is very active inside me but the kids haven't got to experience him kicking or punching. Today I let them draw on my belly - something started by my sister when she wanted my nieces, Madisyn & Maci, to paint my belly when I was pregnant with Nia.

As Nia & Ian were drawing, the baby started moving, kicking, & punching. It was fun to watch my belly move around, it was so cool! They got to feel him kick and he was actually kicking in the circles the kids had drawn. So they went crazy with drawing circles. Here are some pictures!

T-Ball - Go Angels

Nia is loving t-ball this year. She is pretty good! She is a GREAT hitter and is good at stopping the ball. She has played 3 games so far. Last night they WON. We have SO much fun at the games! Nia likes to make friends with everyone who steps on 3rd base (the base she has been playing). Ian has great fun too, as you will see in the photos.

Making Friends

Sizing up the Competition

She hit the ball really far!!!
You can see the ball off in the distance if you look closely at the picture.

She made it all the way to third and is being coached for the run home.

MEANWHILE.....................................................

Ian is putting rocks in his nose, on his head, and burying his toys.

First Offer! UPDATED

We got our first offer today! We were really excited about it but it was really low - 11,500 below the original list price to be exact. Of course we countered and then they countered back and then we countered again. Now it is in their hands and we should find out something by 6:00p.m. tomorrow night.

They are moving here because they are the new youth pastor's at a church near by. We really want them to have the house but they are not willing to budge at this point. They have been praying about it for a few days. Romeo and I have been praying about it as well.

The timing of this would be perfect because we would close on the last day of school for Nia. It would also mean that Nia would get to finish t-ball. It also means I wouldn't have to deliver the baby at the hospital here (heard bad things from friends). And, we would be living in Spur when the baby's born.

I will keep you updated!! Thanks for all your prayers!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No sell! The offer fell through. They really wanted the house at 11,500 below our original asking price. That would put us upside down in our note! So.. we wait some more.
V8 Juice & Bible Story
I bought some V8 juice (just regular - no flavoring added) today because we have been on a health kick lately. Since it is Wednesday and we always have trouble fitting everything in on this day, we had leftovers for supper, Beef Enchiladas/Rice/Sour Cream, but we didn't have any veggies. So, I pulled out the V8 juice and made them drink some. Nia was super excited because she had tasted some before but Ian on the other hand was not enthused.
Nia: It kind of tastes like ravioli sauce.
Amy: Yeah, you're right!
Ian: It tastes like poop!!!!!!!!!
I still made them drink it and each time Ian got a drink he got the hibbe-gibbes (you know - the shivers). Then he started telling me that it was making his tummy hurt.
My kids have been on a roll lately! Unfortunately, it has all been gross things - but OH, so funny!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This just in!

I was reading the story about Jesus feeding the 5000 and it said that Jesus felt deep concern for the large crowd. So I asked the kids if they have ever felt deep concern for someone.

Nia: Yes, like when Ian has fever or is sick.
Amy: Yeah, we don't like it when people are sick and we can't help. What about you Ian?
Ian: When Nia dies, I'm going to cry like I mean it!

What Dad is Teaching Mom....

We were eating supper the other night and Nia asked me where I learned - something - (I can't recall exactly what it was - I'm pregnant - I have a good excuse).

Me: I learned it (whatever it was) from daddy.
Nia: You learn a lot from him.
Me: Like what? (expecting something like tv stuff or electronics or work related)
Nia: How to hawk a loogie!

After a good laugh, she explained: Remember when I asked you why you hawk a loogie after you brush your teeth and tongue? (not pretty, but true) And you told me that you learned it from daddy?

The Things Kids DO...

Read and view at your own risk! Gross things from my 4 year old.

Ian has been noticing the differences between he and his daddy. Yesterday he told us that when he gets bigger that he is going to have hair under his arms. In his eyes, this is awesome!!!!

Today, instead of hair under his arms, he decided he would be cute by saying he would have hair in his hiney. (NO, Romeo has not show him this). I realized that he was being awful quiet so I went to check on him. To make his point even funnier and visual, he got a wig and had stuck it in his crack. You should have seen him walk around trying to keep in it. It was so funny.

He definetly needs a trim, wouldn't you say!

Easter 2009 - Family Pictures - 25 wks pregnant

We had a great Easter this year. We decided not to go the Texas where family is because we were just there for Spring Break. So it was just us.

Saturday night we made "Easter Story Cookies" (I can email you the recipe if you would like) thanks to Megan. Each ingredient means something about the death and resurrection of Christ. This morning we took them out of the oven and each of us ate one. They were hollow! which signifies the empty tomb. I was amazed.

Before church we took this cute pic...

After church we took some more pictures...

Then hunted Easter eggs inside the house due to the rain.

Easter Story at School & God is Bigger than the Boogey-man

I know, 3 posts in one day, that's more than I did last month total.

As we are stuffing eggs last night for Nia's Easter hunt today at school, we were talking about the importance of them understanding the true meaning. So I said that I didn't know why eggs were involved. Nia said that her teachers had told them that it was about new life. She also said that her teachers told them about Jesus dying on the cross and rising again on the 3rd day. Then Nia said that both of her teachers are Christians.

I WAS AMAZED.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, one more thing, the other day Nia had a song stuck in her head at school. Her teacher asked her what she was singing and then asked Nia to sing it for everyone. She did!!!!!!!! It was "God is bigger than the boogey-man, He's bigger than godzilla or the monsters on TV, Oh, God is Bigger than the boogey-man and He's watching out for you and me. Now when I'm lying in my bed and the furniture starts creeping, I'll just laugh and say 'Hey cut that out' and get back to my sleeping, cause I know that God's the biggest and He's watching all the while so when I get scared I'll think of Him and close my eyes and smile..... God is Bigger than the boogey-man ..........." Thanks Veggietales!
Let us Rejoice
Ian's favorite song is "This is the day the Lord has made". He sang it this morning in the bath and it got me to thinking. Jesus knew this verse well in his day. I can imagine Jesus saying this verse day after day and even on the day He was crucified. Can you imagine, Jesus, knowing what was ahead, saying "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Sweetness of Ian
I know there's a point in a growing boys life that he will want to quit all the kisses and hugs from mom. That will be a sad day for me, that's why I am posting this, to remember and remind him of this stage in his life.
Ian, who is 4 years old, loves me so much. He tells me numerous times a day that he loves me. He hugs me ALL day long. He draws and colors me pictures a lot. Of course he loves his dad and sister as well, but he treats me different. He and dad wrestle all the time, Nia & Ian play and fight and everything else that siblings do, but with me, he is tender and gentle and well mannered, always says thank you and please, smiling and gracious and generous - loving on me every chance he gets.
4 out of 5 times, when I ask him in the morning what he dreamed about, It's always me. Whether me leaving him somewhere which he describes as a scary dream or I am always with him which he describes as a good dream. This morning it was a good dream! Then as I was laying on his bed asking him about his dream and sleep, he got up and went around to where I was laying on the bed and starting massaging my back and shoulders. What a sweetie! Oh, the love and joy that bursts out in me over a tiny gester or love from my sweet boy.
I have really enjoyed spending my mornings with him these past few years while Nia is in school. Come August, he will be joining Nia in school and I will be home with a new little one.
It is amazing that compared to my love for my kiddos, God's love for them is so much greater! Oh, thank you Lord for Your Amazing Love.
VERY FUNNY BIBLE STORY!!
I saw this performance live and he had me laughing so hard that I was crying. VERY FUNNY!
