Talent Show

My kids love performing, so we decided to have a talent show. We had 5 different categorizes and started with the guitar. Nia was contestant #1 and she played wonderfully. Ian, contestant #2, took center stage and decided to sing while playing the guitar. He sang a very sad song and was very believable. Guitar contest winner is Ian!! Next up was the singing competition. Nia took the stage with a dramatic (hand motions and everything) song about her when she was a baby. Ian sang a similar song to the one before about Mom dying, Nia is a monster, Daddy's gone and he's all alone. I couldn't believe that my 3 year old could come up with a song right off the top of his head and on top of that I was interested in it. However, with the dramatic performance from Nia, I had to give her the win in the singing competition. Then, dance!!!!!! Nia's up with lots of variety from arms swaying to feet stomping to throwing herself on the floor. Ian's next with a robotic style dance that also involved throwing himself on the floor. Their dance style was so different that I couldn't pick the winner of the dance competition so I had to give a tie. Style was next and they had to pick a pair of shoes, accessories, and an outfit out of mom and dad's closet and explain why they picked it. Nia with white high heels, a brown hat, pink scarf, and green & white dress - looking very stylish. Ian with 2 different colors of flip flops, a long sleeve button-up shirt, a tie, a green hat, and a scarf.

This part of the competition took a little bit longer due to a bathroom break for Ian. When he returned from the bathroom, he had put lots of hair product in his hair and had styled it. So from that came a hair styling competition. Nia's hair is longer than Ian's so she needed a little help. So winner of clothing competition was Nia and winner of hair styling competition was Ian.
We had a great time with immediate showers and a change of clothes.

I saw it on Jon & Kate plus 8. I am fascinated to see how a family of 10 works.
